  • Studying Japanese in the Summer

  • Posted on 10.17.09 in Study
  • My Japanese teacher during the week told the class about how this holidays we can go and do an intense “accelerated” language program at UQ (University of Queensland). It’s during January (Summer in Australia) so I’ll not be doing anything else, it’s targeted at high school students, I like studying Japanese and because I’ll be with like minded individuals it should further how much I learn.

If for someone very cool coincidence you’re reading this and you’re also from Brisbane than you can click on the big image and check out the website and enroll yourself.

For those who aren’t, are you planning on studying during your Christmas break?

  • I studied Japanese at UQ. If you are thinking about studying there when you graduate high school, I would have to say go for it! I did "stream A" which is the one you do if you don't have any experience with Japanese. If you are studying at high school, however, I think you will go through steam B. So I can't really talk about what you might experience there, but overall I think the Japanese program at UQ is good. There are bad points about it, but I think there will be at any "class" type environment. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me! And let us know how your class goes!

O crap your going to that to. I mean I obviously wont be in your class considering my level (I think they'll put me with the grade 9 kids) but still..........

Yeah i enrolled last Monday but i might get rejected cause i don't do Japanese at school but I reckon I can still convince them. Anyway I know its a bit whiny but $195 for a 5 day course considering they're only half days.
